THE ORIGINAL

THE THIRD
SIGNATURE

On April 1, 1976, Ronald Wayne joined Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in forming the Apple Computer Company. Wayne drafted the agreement that gave the new venture its legal shape—and gave himself the role of tie-breaker.

He also illustrated the company’s first Newton logo and prepared the Apple I manual. His fingerprints were everywhere at the beginning.

A story about the difference between hindsight and truth.

THE ARC

Four movements.
One impossible choice.

1950s–60s

The draftsman

Trained in technical drafting, Wayne built a life around precision—engineering, documentation and the quiet architecture behind ambitious machines.

1976

The third signature

At 41, he brought structure to two young visionaries: drafting the original partnership agreement and accepting a ten-percent share.

Twelve days later

The decision

With personal assets exposed to the partnership’s debts, Wayne chose certainty over the unknown. The exit became legend; the reasoning was deeply human.

The life after

More than a footnote

An engineer, writer and inventor beyond Apple—still creating, still challenging the shorthand version of his own story.

THE FILM

Not a story
about what he lost.

A story about what it costs to choose your own life while the world measures only the fortune you left behind.
